About Charlie's Pantry

Animal shelters are full, foreclosures are rising and pet parents are having to make tough, heart-wrenching decisions they had never thought they would have to make. Local shelters and animal control offices report a 35% increase in owner surrenders over last year. Making the situation even worse, many pounds, shelters and even rescues are full providing no safe haven for owners to turn to to help save their pet.
According to the ASPCA between 500,000 to 1 million dogs and cats in the United States are at a high risk of becoming homeless due to our present economic downturn. For the owner to having to give up the pet it is traumatic not only for the family but also for the animal who may never recover.
Charlie's Pantry is focused on serving northwest Ohio through our amazing network of volunteers, Charlie's Pantry, distributes free pet food to anyone who has fallen on hard times, based on need and not financial guidelines Our mission is to prevent abandoned and surrendered pets by supplying families in need with food for their pets with the ultimate goal of keeping families together. To ensure that no pet goes hungry, the pantry provides free dog and cat food to anyone in financial crisis, provides free spaying and neutering through our SNAP program and provides other alternatives for owners whom are not able to provide for their pet.
